The Horse Trick

He goes to town riding a horse expecting to be showered by scented flowers from both sides of the path. He tries a new trick which the horse has never done before. He expects the onlookers to be surprised and applaud him. The trick only killed the horse and he fell breaking his legs. The horse was never made ready for the show. Will he recover?

Peace !

  2. While he rode into the sunset, basking in his ability to recover the applause he thought he had lost, he began to plan his return back.

He recalled however that the scientist had warned him of the limitations of the bionics. It was new technology and it needed to be recharged. He had overstretched its use in his obsession for the applause. Will he be able to get his bionic legs running in time?

He had two other matters to deal with - the onlookers will soon be wondering how he was able to finance the bionics being a horse rider with publicly known monthly income.

The other matter that concerned him was this - the bionics had blinded the onlookers eyes to the pony that he was riding. Will they later realise this too and hold him in doubt?

    Will he overcome these perceptions?

  4. He wished that he had been more transparent in his search for the scientist. His adviser had advised him to tender for the legs on the pretext of scientif research for bionic legs. While accepting the pretext, he had however opted for direct negotiation process where he could find the scientist who would inflate the price and pay him kickback commissions. NOw, he was personally suffering from his own corrupt practice.

Anyway, he thought what is done is done. He has to solve the problem of his leg. Firstly, after spending some money, he managd to get the scientist as a corrupt man and as a traitor to the national project. Any allegations by the scientist against him receiving kickbacks will now not be believed by the public. Secondly, he potrayed himself as a self sacrificing person who had volunterred himself for the national project. The public believed it and pressured the government to approve him funds for the leg replacement. In view of the impending elections, the government gave in to public pressure.

Will anyone ever expose his bluff?

  5. The bluff could have been exposed if not for the horse rider's fast moves. He know that someone had to be responsible, someone has to be blamed. If this does not happen quickly, then the the trail will lead to him and he will be exposed. He has to retire as the horse rider who served only in the national interests.

While the government successfully prosecuted the corrupt scientist, investigations were underway as to the initial funding of the bionic legs. The horse rider had friends, those who had lived off his position as the horse rider. They "provided sufficient evidence" to implicate two members of the board that approved the public funds. The scapegoats for a bigger cause - the survival of the horse rider.

There began cleansing of the public service of "rotten apples". The public was in a dilemma - while they want the service to be cleaned they did not want it to break down either. It was due to the hrose rider that these efforts at cleansing is taking place. The public was concerned for the consequences.

THe public began asking -The horse rider was a hero or a destroyer of institution? How will history record him?
