I think it is just bad taste to keep on criticizing those politicians in power. Serving the People's interest is not easy. The leaders have to sacrifice a lot in terms of their time, money and family. In fact if not for the People's contribution, it would have been impossible for these political powerful leaders to even support their family because they do not have the time to earn a living like you and me.
At least we have our family members and relatives who are clerks, officers in civil service, even some lawyers and doctors...but they....none whatsoever. It is so difficult even for their capable relatives to become successful businessmen due to the fear that People may misunderstand that all their relatives made it because they were in power.
This is the reason why most of their immediate families and close relatives are just middle income like you and me. Anyway to prove my case that our politicians in power are a self-sacrificing lot, I will list below just 25 names as starters:

Assalamualaikum
Bro,
ReplyDeleteThank's for the Espresso.
my pleasure,Mummy
ReplyDeleteTime for change! But we have to make sure the 'liberator' does not become the 'dictator'. Too many examples on history - Fidel Castro, Lenin, Mao, Kim Il Sung, Robert Mugabe... the list goes on.
ReplyDeleteCan we trust even those in opposition in this country? They may be just as bad if they come to power. Maybe we should seek out those who have proven themselves to be non materialistic, and support these individuals rather than the party.
Khalid,
ReplyDeleteIt is so difficult to get approvals for new political parties....so maybe there should be more independents.
Let the people take the power back though the ballot box.
I fully agree that we need more independents! But to do so, we need to reform the current voting system...because at the moment, in a 3 way race between independent, BN and PKR, a PKR voter would not want to vote for independent for fear that they would actually be helping BN to win by wasting their vote on independent (and vice versa). We need to adopt an "alternative voting" system, which is actually applied in Australia..in this system, you get to rank your first choice and second choice. So if you vote for independent as first choice and BN as second choice, then if the independent loses, your vote would automatically get transferred to BN, and you would not have to fear that you are contributory to PKR winning...
ReplyDeletesee the following article by Friedman on how we could reform..:
