Are we Giving Up our Nation to Our Enemies?

I have been asked by many friends to write something on the current issue that seems to have engulfed the nation.

What can I write that sane, knowledgeable, rational people do not know already?

What can I write that I have not already forewarned my friends who are in power (on both sides of the political fence) today many years back? They did not understand then, will they understand now? I doubt it.

Those who do not want to understand will not want to understand.

Such nonsense is precisely what is symbolized by the  theme of this blog - "politicians are really irrelevant to peaceful living, etc".

The greater fear is this (and I believe it so): that the nonsense among us will be used and abused by our real enemies to further cause turmoil in the country.

I actually refuse to write on the so-called topic as I had earlier refused to wish anyone a "Happy New year". See, what has happened and what more will happen so long as those in power refuse to confront fundamentals. Everyone of them I speak to are only parroting old models of handling problems at the peripherals...and thinking it is outside the box simply because of change in terms and form! So, how?

I am even more convinced now than ever that Raperas are urgently needed.

We truly need the Third Force because looking at the current flock, one wonders - how far does the apple fall from the tree????

May God keep the good people at peace  and give the evil people their due rewards.

Peace !

Salam Bro. Jay,

The Politicians (both sides) have a general rule that they have to abide i.e. 'IF BY DOING THIS WILL MAKE THEM WIN THE NEXT ELECTION, THEN DO IT'!

But the THIRD FORCE, I beiieve have this as their general rule :

'IF BY DOING THIS CAN BRING PEACE AND HARMONY TO THE COUNTRY THAT WE LOVE SO MUCH, THEN LET'S GET IT DONE'!

Maybe this is the motive to use Allah in the injil.. To instigate muslims and lead this nation to a civil war.. It seems to be working at this moment.

If the Herald has any respect for Islam then it should by right not adamant in using Allah in its injil.

It is there fore obvious that Pakiam does not has respect for Islam.

Bawal,

You may want to read articles like this http://letusaddvalue.blogspot.com/2010/01/can-we-use-term-allah-to-represent-gods.html

Before you criticize Rev Pakiam. It is not correct to say that "Muslims will be instigated to a civil war" if the Muslims themselves understand the Quran.

This is the time to be mindful of verse such as these and many more in the Quran:

Surah Al-Maidah verse 8 " O ye who believe! stand out firmly for Allah, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: that is next to piety: and fear Allah. For Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do".

You must understand the Herald's point of view before you pass judgement.

Peace!

and not forgetting Quran 2.62

'Those who believe (in the Quran) and those who follow the Jewish (Scriptures),and the Christians and the Sabians,-Any who believe in Allah and the last Day,and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord.On them there's shall be no fear, and THEY SHALL NOT GRIEVE'

Any senseless, fanaticism and extremism act MUST be condemned!

This is not a religious issue.

I remember at school there was always one or two kids who were unpopular and who the bullies would never let them sit near them, and if the unpopular kids tried to participate in games, or take part in some other thing, they would be stopped not for any good reason, but because by preventing these kids from participating as equals, the bullies displayed that they were the top dogs, and could subject others to their whims.

It seems to me (though I may be wrong) that most Muslims in Malaysia are aware that Arabs (for instance) are not jealous about the word 'Allah' in the same way as Malay(sian) Muslims are and yet some insist that Malaysian non-Muslims should not be allowed to use 'Allah'. Whatever the reasons *stated* for this are, what it boils down to, I think, is school-yard bullying. By stopping others from using this word, certain people who identify as Muslim are demonstrating that they are at the top of the ethno-religious hierachy in Malaysia. The right to use the word 'Allah' is a symbolic one mainly, one that will indicate equality in rights. Obviously not everyone agrees in equality in Malaysia.

Today, I despair.

Sorry bro, but I think the correct question is supposed to be, "Are we allowing our politicians to surrender our nation to the enemies?"

One of the characteristics of orang kampung is to be careful not to hurt peoples feelings. They say "nanti apa pula orang kata" or "nanti dia kecil hati pula". It is this attribute which has seen most kampung folks live in peace. The same attribute is needed if we want peace in our country, and not rhetoric and chest thumping. Its not enough to say I have the authority, or it is my right to do this or that. Peoples feelings must be taken into account. In my opinion all parties were wrong in their handling of the issue. More sickening is the attitude of most bloggers (not J) of blaming UMNO for the fiasco. Although I despise UMNO, I do not subscribe to double standards and these supposedly anti racist bloggers are as racist and as bigoted as one can get.
Salam.
