Concept of Race a Myth forged on Humans!!!

Race is an arbitrary label that has no legitimacy. Therefore anything based on race, including racism and racial discrimination is unsound at best and immoral and inhumane at worst.

An interesting educational video to watch.

Quran: 49:13 "O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other (not that you may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of God is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And God has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things)".

So, in God's eyes, the most honourable one is not the Malay, Chinese, Indian, German, French, etc, but the one who is most righteous.

Belief in the supremacy of a "race" and the "sanctity" of a particular "race" clearly goes against the teachings of the Quran. Racists, therefore are evil people who perpetuate a myth based on ignorance and/or selfish desires. Will God ever help the evil ones?

Peace !

Salam,

But sir, I think our politicians may not be agreeable to your conclusion. They are of very special breed of being, live in a different social paradigm from the rest of humanity. They are very powerful, carrying for themselves a totally different set of laws and once they act upon something, nothing can escapes. They are like blackholes of the universe. Which is not even light can escape them. If they have the mean, I think they would like to have God Himself to be of their servant.

Racism be it Malay, Chinese , Indian, Caucasian or Black is an insult to Allah bearing in mind the ayat you quoted. But some people say they are against racism but their writings and actions are racist and bigoted. Beware the hypocrites!
I like this blog because it is neutral and hopefully will remain so.

Well Jahamy as much as I would agree with you (there shouldn't be any racial supremacy) I guess you'd also realize that the concept of race is inevitable like how the concept of nationalism was found. For example anyone can't simply move into Malaysia and assume full citizenship. But why?

What if we think about how the Brits have brought in foreign workers to the mines and estates throughout history of Malaysia. Can these foreigners simply assume citizenship?

In a way, globalization has helped reduce that nationalism, racism, sectarian believe amongst human beings; apart from some of its known disadvantages,of course.

And that's why tolerance, love and care (TLC) is key to unity (and to make the need for distinctive racial identification even more absurd). The righteous ones triumph

Tolokminda,

agreed that politicians will unseat anyone or anything for their own self glory and perpetuation.

Hakim J,

Actually, many things that we have created for social "expediency" is on analysis, inhumane and unIslamic. Imagine for instance, due to the kind of economics that we have created and some lands belong to us while many, many other do not own lands. Er..since when humans created land???

Peace !

Verily, for me this is the most beautiful quote from the Holy Quran.
