Malaysia: The Last US Frontier?

Have Raperas considered this?

Thailand is in political turmoil. Dig deeper and you may see causes of the turmoil completely unrelated to Thailand. Singapore is considered largely stable and a good friend of Uncle Sam. Uncle Sam, it is said has made inroads into Indonesia. Philippines, we know is a friend of Uncle Sam. It appears that in this region, only Malaysia is yet to play ball with Uncle Sam.

We try to read the unprecedented politicking that is happening in Malaysia. Possibly, we may even have experienced “resources” moving so rapidly that the eye cannot follow.

There must be some way to make sense of what is now possible which was not before.

Are we missing something in this whole game? Is Uncle Sam staying aloof somewhere far and not interested to see “democracy” in our beloved country?

Read between the lines.

Is Malaysia, the last US frontier in this region?

How Much More Stupid Can The Government Get?

Such stupidity. Such utter stupidity.

Listen to this:

Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar … said Tan was detained under Section 73(1) of the Act in order to ensure her safety as police intelligence indicated that there were threats to her life after she reported on Bukit Bendera division Umno chairman Datuk Ahmad Ismail’s allegedly racist remarks

“We have no intention of holding a reporter as after all she was just taking notes of the comments made by a certain party that led to a public debate.

“She maybe released as soon as today after police have obtained all information needed,” he said, adding that the reporter’s detention was part of the police preventive action. [The Star]

So to protect someone, you put him or her under preventive detention?

If you were so concerned with her safety, why not just send say, half a dozen policemen to protect her?

If you were so concerned with her safety, why not act on the so-called police intelligence and arrest the people who are threat to her life?

It’s not called preventive detention for nothing, innit?

Bodoh.

And here’s more kebodohan from Kodomo Lion:

Asked on the detention of Selangor senior executive councillor Teresa Kok, Syed Hamid said she was arrested due to her comments on mosques and the Azan recently.

”Her comments have created public disorder and problems,” he said.

In case Botak is having trouble remembering, let me remind him that it was Khir “Tempe” Toyo who made the allegations against her — allegations that later proved to be untrue.

Teresa Kok was merely defending herself.

So why arrest her?

Arrest Tempe instead, because he was the one shit-stirring.

Bodoooh, bodoh.

THE BN GOVERNMENT has lost it’s mind. It has well and truly lost it.

It will lose the next general election hands down, no matter what happens after this.

So long, dudes, and thanks for all the laughs.

The continued suppression of our rights as citizens of this beloved country by the leaders of UMNO and BN will push us further into the net of USA. If the USA actually has spies and groups trying to take control of the country, they must be among the current powerful leaders of UMNO and BN. This is my contention because the actions of the leaders of UMNO today seems intentionally trying to provoke the people to take actions that can create anarchy in the country.

The time has come for the Government to go back to the people and call for a general election conducted by international bodies for the government to be able to reclaim their rights to government and for them not to be accused of intentionally playing into the hands of USA

Anonymous no1 (wish you would use a nickname, at least),

Rapera means saviour citizens as opposed to normal citizens that float along. Raperas are independent of politicians and understand their environment in totality.

Anonymous no3,

Preventive detention according to the Internal Security Act is to prevent a threat to national security, public order or public peace. To protect someone, you do not detain as to detain would mean to imprison, a curtailment of the right of freedom of movement guaranteed under the Constitution. To protect someone, you provide security.

Stranded this world,

How can we be certain that the enormous amount of unprecedented events and politicking that is going on now is not the hand of the "invisible hand"???

Stranded in This World said...

Most of the problems that we are facing today have its seeds in our own follies. The draconian ISA, the undeniable corruption, inefficiencies and leakages in the economy, the adoption and propagation of the wrong aspects of Islam etc. are all efforts done by the government to ensure their continued complete control of the Malays as the main political force of the country.

The current unprecedented events happening are just the culmination of all the past excesses and weaknesses mentioned above. The weak leadership of the present Prime Minister and his cronies made the situation worse.

We cannot blame the last remaining superpower,USA from trying to take advantage of the situation. That is what they do as a Superpower – they want to control the whole world. Blaming them will not bring any benefit nor will they take heed of it. We need to solve a simpler problem and that is having a better government.

As long as the government continues to repress the Rakyat, especially the Malays by putting the lid of wrong values, religious concepts and draconian laws, the country will continue to be week and provides fodder for the insatiable appetite of the Superpower.

The BN/UMNO leaders should not point fingers as other parties when it is obvious they are the ones that are screwing the nation.

Wrong use of ISA: De facto law minister
By IAN McINTYRE

KOTA BARU: The Internal Security Act (ISA) should not be used against civilians, de facto law minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim said.

The Act should only be used against terrorists or those trying to topple the Government by force, the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department said at a press conference at his home here on Sunday.

He was commenting on the arrests of three people -- Seputeh MP Teresa Kok, Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Kamarudin and Sin Chew Daily reporter Tan Hoon Cheng -- under the ISA.

Tan has since been released.

“I will seek a meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to have a frank discussion about this issue to seek his views as soon as possible,” he told reporters.

“I know I am breaking rank here ... I am prepared to face the consequences. If I am to resign, I will do so.

"I am not a trouble maker and I don't want to cause any trouble for the Prime Minister, but I have my principles and will always be a vocal critic of the use of the ISA.

"I joined his administration to make changes and everybody knows, I am also for a more open form of media reporting," he added.

Zaid said it was time for the Federal Government to revert to the original spirit of the ISA, which was enacted to curb Communism and today should be used only on armed terrorists or those out to topple the Government by force.

“I am not calling for a repeal of the ISA, but it should only be use when there is a real threat to national security, such as armed terrorists, and not on civilians,” he said.

He said by using the ISA randomly, the Government was sending out a message that it does not trust the capabilities of its own enforcement agencies, such as the police, in maintaining peace.

There are ample punitive legislations such as the Penal Code, Sedition Act and criminal defamation to take against those who break the law or are involved in activities which may destabilise the Government, without having to invoke the ISA, Zaid said.

He said the use of the ISA also gives the impression of “selective prosecution” as the Government cannot incarcerate everybody.

“In this latest episode, we (the Government) have generated an impression of selective prosecution since no action was taken against the person who allegedly uttered seditious remarks.

“We are saying that we are only acting against those who are disloyal to us.”

“The Government needs to change and Cabinet members need to realise this -- we have to be progressive.”

Asked whether the ISA was likely used because of strained “race relations” which may undermine national stability, Zaid said that while he placed paramount importance on national stability, the role of the Government was to find solutions, not to make matters worse.

“I agree we have many issues and sensitivities to address but for me, racial disharmony is a seasonal thing in Malaysia. We must engage in open dialogues and discussions to resolve these issues,” he said.

On whether the ISA was used because the court process may be too long, Zaid noted that the Government never even attempted to use the court system first -- instead, it simply went ahead with using the ISA first.

“If our court system is too slow, we must ... make it more efficient by hiring more prosecutors, while the police must conduct proper investigation to acquire credible evidence,” he said.

SEEMS LIKE MALAYSIA IS HEADING THE WAY INDONESIA IS

Indonesia is one of the world's richest countries in terms of natural resources.

God has blessed Indonesia with gold, uranium, copper, oil, timber, beaches, seas and other wealth. The land is fertile with abundant rain. Stick a twig into the ground and it grows into a tree.

Yet Indonesians sleep in the streets.

Food is expensive. The average Indonesian eats some rice, tempe, tauhu and may be some vegetables for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday.

An average Nasi Padang meal for four persons in an Indonesian restaurant can cost RM60 (160,000 Rupiah). This is way beyond the income of the average Joko or Ketut in Indonesia .

Why is this so? The answer is because the ruling elites in Indonesia do not care about the people. They have pillaged the country.

They craft policies that only serve to keep the elites in power and wealthly. The same thing is happening in M'sia.

There are also millions of Indonesians who go to school and university but do not learn skills that can help them survive in the real world.
They are very poor in European languages like English or Dutch. All their education is in Indonesian. So they cannot keep up with the latest developments and technologies. They cannot compete. They remain poor.

The children of the elites are sent overseas for their education. An average Indonesian university graduate cannot bring world class skills to his employers. He or she therefore earns a pittance. This is happening in Malaysia . Bumiputra university graduates only strike it rich if they get Government jobs where they do not do much work but earn a good salary with a pension. In the private sector they may not get a job or earn only a pittance.

That is why 100,000 graduates remain unemployed in Malaysia .

Bumiputra university graduates are turning up for interviews as taxi drivers and shop assistants. What about those who flunk out after SPM ? They become Mat Rempits (Motorcycle Racers). Last Saturday I saw another Mat Rempit get killed at the road races in Shah Alam (near Section 7).

In Malaysia , just like in Indonesia , food is getting very expensive.
But the wages and salaries of the people, especially the Malays, is not keeping up with the increase in prices. Instead of developing the competitive ability of the people, the Government has been using the failed NEP to provide subsidies and dish out money on a plate.

Everything is subsidised, even cooking oil, flour, rice, sugar, fuel, etc.

The Government has been providing these subsidies so that the people will keep voting for the ruling party. So it has never been to the Government's advantage to make the Malays independent. A Malay who is independent of the Government may not vote for the BN. It is therefore better to keep feeding with subsidies.. So, for the past 50 years, everything has been subsidised.

But now with 27million people in the country of which more than half are Malays, subsidies are getting more expensive. There is also much much more thievery and wastage by the elites in Malaysia .

But there is no bottomless 'well' full of money.

Everything has its limits.

The money will soon run out. Without the subsidies for cooking oil, sugar, flour and petrol, how are the people, especially the Malays, going to survive? Already university graduates cannot find jobs or compete in the private sector. What happens when the oil money runs out? What happens when (not if, but when) the Government cannot simply spend billions of oil money to sustain its voting base any longer?
That is when we may see people sleeping in the streets, just like in Indonesia. If that happens this country will go up in flames. We will all be consumed.

In Indonesia , the Government has not mobilised its hundreds of millions of people (over 250 million Indonesians ) with the competitive skills to grow enough food for themselves. Hence food is expensive. They do not even have the simple survival skills like coming to work on time, organising themselves to do simple tasks, maintaining good hygiene and cleanliness and so on. They are poorly read and not informed about many things that are going on around the worl. Their Govt has failed in all these aspects. Hence the average Indonesian remains poor.

The same thing has happened in Malaysia. Our young people, especially the Malays, do not possess basic survival skills. We are not talking about competitive skills but just basic survival skills. The Government is not serious about giving them useful competitive skills either.

The Mat Rempits are being glorified by the politicians as saviours of the nation (Mat Cemerlang). Correction. They are drug users, gang rapists, snatch thieves and street fighters.

When an efficient Policewoman called Nooriyah Anvar was appointed Chief of Traffic Police she went after the Mat Rempits with a vengeance. Does anyone remember her? She confiscated their bikes on the spot. But soon the Mat Rempits called their political muscle and Nooriyah Anvar was kicked out. To date she holds the record of being the shortest serving Traffic Police Chief in Malaysia . She has been replaced by Senior Asst Comm (II) Datuk Hamza Taib.

So the Government is not serious about improving the position of the Malays..

It serves the Barisan Nasional Government to keep the Malays down and out. Then the Malays can go to the Government for crumbs. This way the ruling elites get to keep the whole loaf to themselves. Go and visit Indonesia . This is what is happening over there. It is happening over here too.

Does Malaysia have a problem? Yes the Malays are not happy, the Chinese are not happy and the Indians are not happy.

They spoke out at the March 2008 polls and hope things will change for the better, now they have some oppositions who promised change.

The Malays are being duped by their corrupted leaders by using the religion, the Chinese and Indians are being marginalised by the ruling elites.

Let us all Malaysians wake up and fight the corrupt system for the benefit of everyone. Let us all unite and stand together and change the system for once and for all.

We are not Malays, Chinese or Indians, we are Malaysians.

Heed tthis message well.. Many Malaysians May End Up Sleeping in the Streets just like their Indonesian neighbours!!!

The Americans want to lay their hands on our oil reserves as well as our oil money. It means Petronas.

Among other things the Americans want to gain control of Petronas. How? EXACTLY how they gained control of Pertamina and bankrupted the company.

When Pertamina went bankrupt, the native Indonesian oil industry collapsed. Now Indonesian oil is pumped out by Chevron and other American majors.

They bankrupted Pertamina by getting to Suharto and the ruling generals. Once they had them in their pocket, Pertamina's money went flying out the window.

Pertamina's suppliers were American, bankers were American, oil buyers were American etc.

Then Pertamina's pipelines leaked, meaning oil and gas leaked. Pertamina lost money. They then spent more money paying the Americans to build new pipelines. They went bankrupt.

The US wants to ge to our oil wealth too. The Wall Street pirates like Soros want to lay their hands on our RM300 Billion EPF funds.

To achieve all this, they need to have the Prime Minister in their pocket. The Prime Minister they are eyeing is NOT Badawi.

If the Americans spend RM1 bill to get their candidate into power, it is worth it. We produce 650,000 barrels of oil per day.

That is about USD60 million per day or RM200 million per day. Or USD1.8 Billion per month or USD 21.6 Billion per year.

So spending RM1.0 bill to get their candidate into power is peanuts.

The Americans have help. The British are helping them. The Americans and the British now have troops in Mindanao. There are American abd British military bases in Mindanao.
