Bermulanya Kerajaan Pakatan Harapan

Malaysia telah membuktikan pada diri nya sendiri bahawa ia berkeupayaan untuk menukar kerajaan melalui proses demokrasi tanpa sebarang keganasan atau ketidakstabilan politik. 

Mulai 9.30 malam, 10hb Mei, 2018, Malaysia mempunyai kerajaan Persekutuan yang baru.

Sebelum saya  menulis selanjutnya, ingin saya memperingati diri saya serta mereka yang rela di peringati akan satu kebenaran.  Sifat manusia yang masih berilusi dengan “kebolehan” nya semata2 adalah dimana yang menang akan bergembira dan merasa mereka hebat dalam percaturan. Pihak yang kalah pula akan bersedih serta berada dalam kesesalan yang samar2. Kedua-dua manusia seperti ini lupa akan satu kebenaran hakiki bahawa Allah jua yang memberi “kerajaan” kepada siapa yang Dia sukai.  Kebenaran ini jelas dalam Surah Al Imran ayat 26:

“Katakanlah: "Wahai Tuhan Yang mempunyai kerajaan, Engkau berikan kerajaan kepada orang yang Engkau kehendaki dan Engkau cabut kerajaan dari orang yang Engkau kehendaki. Engkau muliakan orang yang Engkau kehendaki dan Engkau hinakan orang yang Engkau kehendaki. Di tangan Engkaulah segala kebajikan. Sesungguhnya Engkau Maha Kuasa atas segala sesuatu”.

Ahli politik juga harus beringat bahawa apa yang boleh menghilangkan kuasa mereka dengan sekelip mata adalah faktor yang sama yang mengakibatkan Iblis diusir kebumi  iaitu kesombongan atau keangkuhan (Surah Al A’Raaf : ayat 11-13).

Sebagai Muslim saya beriman bahawa ayat2 di atas memperingati Kita bahawa kuasa dan kemuliaan bukan sesuatu untuk di banggakan tetapi satu amanah yang di berikan kepada manusia2 yang dipilih oleh Pencipta nya.

Maka, pada 10.5.2018, Allah telah memberikan amanah kepada kerajaan PH untuk mentadbir Negara Malaysia.  Dalam amanah ini, terdapat harapan Rakyat yang amat besar. 

Dimana kemenangan PH membawa perubahan baru dalam lanskap politik Malaysia, Rakyat juga mengharapkan ia akan membawa perubahan yang bermakna, efektif dan berguna dalam pentadbiran Negara.

Kerajaan yang di pilih adalah kerajaan Semua Rakyat Malaysia tanpa mengira kaum, agama atau kelas ekonomi.  Maka, kerajaan ini tidak boleh membeza-bezakan “anak2” (Rakyat) berdasarkan kategori2 yang disebutkan tadi. 

Pengagihan sumber2 Negara harus lah adil dan saksama diantara anak2 nya dengan mengambilkira keupayaan masing2. Saya percaya Rakyat dahagakan perkara2 perkara-perkara tersebut:

1. Mengwujudkan satu bangsa Malaysia dimana Kita dapat bersama2 menuju kearah satu “Malaysian Dream” sebagai satu keluarga yang punyai sikap keihsanan (compassion)
2. Reform dalam sistem pendidikan dari segi isi kandungannya, kaedah pengajaran, kos dan sebagainya,
3. Penghapusan rasuah 
4. Mengwujudkan suasana politik dan ekonomi dimana rakyat yang rela berusaha dapat mencari nafkah yang halal tanpa birokrasi yang membebankan
5. Merapatkan perhubungan antara pelbagai agama serta mengwujudkan suasana ukhuwah di kalangan umat Muslim untuk membanteras kegilaan taksub mazhab dan sikap “keterlaluan agama”.
6. Benar2 mengambil langkah untuk menangani masalah kos rumah murah dimana berlaku banyak penipuan dan penindasan terhadap mereka yang berpendapatan rendah dan miskin. Juga saiz rumah kos rendah perlu di nilai semula kerana saiz kini berada dalam zon kezaliman.
7. Melakukan reformasi perundangan untuk merombak kembali undang2 yang menindas martabat manusia dan memastikan undang2 adalah adil
8. Memberi perhatian yang lebih daripada sekarang kepada golongan kanak2,  yang kurang upaya dan juga warga emas - perlu merangka polisi2 yang khusus;
9. Mengenal pasti masalah2 yang di hadapi wanita2 terutama ibu tunggal, keselamatan, keadaan  bayi terbiar dan sebagainya.
10. Melihat kembali kontrak kerajaan seperti pembinaan Jalan raya dan sebagainya yang berat sebelah pada rakyat.
11. Kerajaan yang telus, bertanggungjawab, dan “engage feedback” Rakyat dalam polisi2 yang berpengaruh besar.

INi lah di antara yang saya fikir utama dalam minda dan harapan rakyat yang sempat saya berkongsi.

Saya berharap Kerajaan PH ini akan berpegang pada janji nya untuk berkhidmat pada rakyat sebaik mungkin serta di rahmati Allah.

Be kind to parents, enjoins the Quran

How many of us Malaysians, both Muslim and non-Muslim, can say that we have heard about what the Quran and the Prophet say about our responsibility to our parents in most of the national discourse concerning Islam? 

In the past few decades, the national discourse about Islam by “Islamic” political parties and some non-governmental organisations (NGOs) has been about so-called criminal laws in Islam which the scholars choose to call as “hudud”. Granted there are a few criminal penalties that have been mentioned in the Quran. Sadly however, many other injunctions and commandments in the Quran that not only have a universal appeal but actually improve the quality of life of all human beings, both Muslim and non-Muslim, are hardly highlighted. 

With respect, the public may misperceive that only the enactment and implementation of these “hudud” punishments is what makes up an “Islamic” society. This cannot be so as the concept of Islamic justice is much more than that and goes beyond secular understanding of “criminal justice”. There are greater noble ideas of social, natural, economic and “human” justice in the Quran.

How much of justice have we done for the aged, the senior citizens, single mothers and the neglected parents in our society? Would it not be refreshing for Malaysians if some Islamist NGOs or political parties canvass these issues in the name of “Islamic mercy”?

Malaysia has long left being a dominant agricultural country. We have moved into modernised living and the functioning of the family unit as we knew many decades ago has considerably altered. The nature of economic activities that citizens indulge in has changed, cost of living has gone up and in turn family values too have changed. In fact, the occupational circumstances of our capitalist economy bring forth realistic challenges to take care of parents especially those who require constant care and attention.

If we were to honestly appraise the development of our towns, cities, buildings and roads, can we say that we have made it user-friendly to the older folks? I humbly state that much of our town planning and construction efforts, whether residential or commercial, does not express the compassion factor the Quran repeatedly emphasises. Even in China you can find parks and places specially built for senior citizens to mingle and exercise. 

Our economy is very much biased towards the youth and in the process, the value of senior citizens has diminished. I am afraid that our national policymakers have not given proper attention to the maintenance of the family unit, especially the care and respect for senior citizens and parents. 

We have simply left it to the individuals and communities to sort it out according to their own values. However, this overlooks the fact that drastic transformation of the economy has changed our values. The State has a duty to balance this anomaly because much of the economic and social changes are brought about by the State’s approval and many times, by its designs.

The Quran explicitly places great importance of being good to parents. In fact in surah Al Baqarah verse 83 (Quran 2:83), the Quran says, among other things, “worship none save Allah and be good to parents”. 

There are many other verses in the Quran with the same theme of being kind and caring of one’s parents. Furthermore, the Quran in many instances also appeals to logic as to why we have to be kind to them. One reason being that it was our parents that have taken care of us and dedicated parts of their life to raise us. 

While the Quran speaks of kindness to both parents, it gives special attention to mothers. Every time I read these verses, I ask myself: What have we done for the single mothers who are fated to live the life they never chose? Why are the Islamist political parties and contemporary Muslim scholars not championing their plight? 

When parents reach old age, this presents the greatest opportunity to the Muslim to care for his parents to earn the pleasure of Allah (Quran 17: 23-24). 

Muslims are reminded that parents have a right over their children for care and love as they have been showered with when they were children. The love, care and respect for parents specifically and aged citizens generally ought to be evolved into a natural, national value until it becomes a norm. 

It is with shame that I see many parts of England are more senior citizen-friendly than Malaysian economic development! And yet, political Islamists unashamedly keep giving sermons on the “mercy of Allah” while not choosing to champion the same injunctions in the Quran.

I do hope that Islamists will be in the forefront to champion the cause of senior citizens’ care and push for legislation and State assistance for children who are unable to provide for their parents. These are the good things that I want political parties that claim to represent Islam to do. 

I can understand the challenges, financial, psychological and physical, faced by children who have to care for their aged parents. I have a sister who has been caring for my very old mother for years and I simply am moved by her love, patience and dedication. 

However, I also know some children who are unable to do so or cannot provide the quality care due to various constraints. I urge the contemporary Islamic scholars to debate on how best the individual citizen together with the State can provide for quality care for old folks and parents. 

If there is a need for legislation and policies to be made, then it needs to be done if we call ourselves a caring society, what more some claim that we are an “Islamic State”.  

I believe such a move, even in the name of Islam will be supported by the non-Muslims as it will provide benefit to all, irrespective of religious differences.

Mengapa Kita menyusahkan Hidup Kita Sendiri?

(Atrikel ini tidak ditujukan kepada semua orang, hanya pada mereka yang berkaitan sahaja.Dalam dunia ini, ada yang baik dan ada yang jahat).

Banyak perkara dalam fikiran dan hati saya yang ingin saya berkongsi dengan mereka yang mahu mendengarnya terutama berkaitan dengan keperitan dan cabaran pengalaman yang di istilahkan sebagai "kehidupan". Mengapa terlalu banyak masalah, kepedihan, penderitaan, kemiskinan dan kekecawaan dalam kehidupan?

Memang kita tahu bahawa kehidupan itu mempunyai cabaran tersendiri, liku-liku yang terpaksa di lalui dan tindakan-tindakan yang perlu di lakukan supaya kehidupan kita tidak menjadi sia-sia dan kita boleh hidup dengan sejahtera dan bermaruah. Ini adalah cabaran-cabaran semula jadi perjalanan kehidupan. Tidak ada sesiapa pun boleh merungut berkaitan dengan perkara semula jadi ini. Kehidupan ini tertakluk kepada Sunnah Allah atau natural laws, samada kita mahu akuinya ataupun tidak. Bukan perkara-perkara ini yang sering merunsingkan saya.

Sepanjang kehidupan saya sehingga kini, saya kenal ramai manusia mulia yang mengorbankan masa, tenaga dan harta mereka yang sedikit bagi meringkan keperitan kehidupan orang lain. Mereka lakukan semua ini kerana mereka tidak mahu makhluk lain yang juga manusia seperti mereka tidak merasai rahmah Allah. Saya hormati dan mendoakan bagi orang-orang seperti ini. Kebanyakkan daripada rakyat marhain merupakan manusia seperti ini.

Perkara yang saya tidak faham ialah sikap setengah mereka yang mempunyai kuasa, yang mempunyai pembelajaran, jawatan, pangkat, gelaran, kedudukan, keupayaan wang ringgit, kesihatan dan banyak lagi rahmah Allah tetapi bersikap menimbulkan masalah bagi mereka yang bergantung kepada mereka atau mengharapkan mereka.

Kesombongan, Keangkuhan, Ketamakan.

Saya kurang faham mengapa ada mereka yang berjawatan mudah menjadi sombong dan angkuh sehingga keangkuhan mereka menahan mereka untuk menjalankan amanah dengan sepatutnya.Saya sudah bersua dengan beberapa pegawai2 kerajaan (bukan semua), pengarah2, ketua2 pengarah macam2 jabatan yang berwatakkan sebagai "orang berkuasa" daripada berwatakkan sebagai "orang yang dipinjamkan kuasa untuk membantu manusia". INi pun bukanlah mereka di minta untuk bekerja dengan percuma tetapi di bayar gaji.

Mengapa boleh orang sombong dengan pangkat dan kuasa? Dari kecil sampai saya dewasa kini, saya masih tidak faham. Saya sebenarnya rasa kelakar bila ada orang yang berpengaruh merasakan dirinya sangat penting kerana dalam minda saya, saya sudah pun nampak keadaan beliau selepas bersara dan jika beliau panjang umur menjadi lebih tua. Bukan kah lebih elok di gunakan kuasa untuk membantu yang marhain dan berusaha meringankan masalah dan beban mereka?

Maka, saya lihat kesombongan dan keangkuhan atau "syok sendiri" dengan jawatan dan panggilan pangkat oleh orang lain lah yang membuat kita lalai dalam amanah sehingga kita menyusahkan kehidupan orang lain.

Saya sudah semakin meluat dengan mereka yang hanya fikirkan tentang diri mereka, kerjaya mereka dan keluarga mereka semasa berjawatan dan berkuasa dan lepas bersara kononnya baru lah nak berkhidmat pada masyarakat atau beribadah dalam masjid - takut mati konon walhal hari yang kita lahir itu adalah pengesahan bahawa kematian itu satu kepastian!

Yang masuk keranda bukan lah orang tua atau muda tetapi mayat. Jadi tidak kah perbuatan sia2 tamak pada kehidupan yang pasti akan tinggalkan kita?

Ramai Terpelajar, sedikit yang terdidik

Ini satu lagi sumpahan yang melanda beberapa orang yang terpelajar sehingga dia menyusahkan kehidupan rakyat kebanyakkan dengan pelajaran tinggi nya. Tidak kira samada orang itu terpelajar dalam bidang agama ataupun bidang bukan agama. jenis manusia ini sama sahaja - mereka lebih mahu di iktiraf sebagai "pandai" walaupun kerja2 yang di usahakan oleh tangan2 mereka itu menyusahkan kehidupan rakyat kebanyakkan. Ini lah antara sebab2 nya saya kadang2 malas nak sertai seminar2 kerana saya rasa saya tidak boleh berlagak pandai seperti mana yang mereka harapkan.

Terdapat lah hakim2, peguam2, sarjana2 agama, engineer, doktor dan lain2 yang terpelajar lebih menyusahkan manusia daripada membantu. Mereka samada tidak sedar atau tidak peduli bahawa tindakan mereka boleh bawa kesan buruk kepada kehidupan orang lain. Mungkin ini berlaku kerana seperti kuda yang pakai "blinkers", mereka membenarkan diri terperangkap dengan keasyikkan kedudukan dan "pembelajaran" mereka bagi menjamah nafsu kepentingan peribadi semata2.

Terlalu banyak seminar2, mesyuarat2 jawatankuasa dan lain2 forum seperti ini yang tidak memberi kesan langsung dalam meringankan keperitan harian yang di alami oleh rakyat kebanyakkan. Yang "pandai2"ini syok melontarkan "idea" yang mampu mengerunkan ramai yang mudah terpedaya tetapi sebenarnya direka khas untuk menonjolkan kumpulan mereka sebagai eksklusif "pandai" dalam masyarakat. Melalui cara2 ini, mereka mencipta peranan dan status bagi diri mereka dalam masyarakat - berkepentingan diri sendiri.

Malangnya, yang daif tetap daif. Sumber2 Allah masih di nikmati oleh golongan eksklusif tetapi rakyat kebanyakan masih serba kekurangan.

Begitu ramai yang terpelajar tetapi kita lihat keadaan rakyat kebanyakkan begitu daif juga. Di merata2 dunia, bukan di negara kita sahaja. Dan dalam banyak hal, saya dapati orang2 terpelajar lah menimbulkan pelbagai masalah dan reka pelbagai perkara yang menyusahkan rakyat kebanyakkan. Fikirlah sendiri apa kah perkara2 ini.

Banyak perkara yang masih saya tidak faham dalam kehdiupan ini
Ini sahaja lah luahan hati saya buat masa ini. Memang sesak nafas saya memikirkan gelagat manusia2 seperti yang saya gambarkan disini.

Why Drag Lim Guan Eng's Son into Politics?

I really do not know whether it is true or not personally. YAB Lim Guan Eng has denied it. The school apparently has denied it too.

I am not really concerned with the truth or otherwise of the allegation here. If it is false, then the allegations are defamatory, evil and highly immoral.

Assuming it it true,  it gives rise to several important issues and reflects upon the political ethics and culture that our country has.

What is the relevance of a 16 year old boy's misadventure with the leader's standing or lack of it? Does it mean that if your children are "bad", you are bad too and that you must have failed as a father or a leader? Admittedly, there are cases where the children's misadventure may reflect on the parent's negligence. However, it is not always the case.
 
Every reasonable person should know this particularly a Muslim.

The Quran relates histories and events that show that the misadventure of a sibling or a child does not reflect on the parent.

Prophet Abraham was a believer while his father was an idolator (Quran 19:46 to 47). The stark difference in faith did not lead Prophet Abraham to curse or hate his father. Muslims do not judge Abraham by the faith of his father. In fact, Abraham is held up as a good example of a man of faith (Quran 16:120)

Prophet Noah embarked on to the Ark but his son did not believe him and had refused to heed his command. (Quran: surah 11 verses 42 to 43). Do we judge Noah as a weak prophet because he was unable to convince his own son? Therein is a lesson for those who have total faith in Allah and serve Allah only (not political interests).

Prophet Lut is held up in high esteem by the Muslims and Allah relates of what happened to his wife who was among the disbelievers. Allah did not save her from the calamity that befell Lut's people (Quran  11:81). No Muslim will ever judge Lut by his wife's disbelief.

The Quran liberates the human mind from such evil traps of judging one individual by the act of another.  However, when we serve gods like politics other than Allah, we fall into such traps too. The Satan whispers and fitnah (defamation) becomes alluring.

Let us leave the 16 year old boy alone.

Lets salvage politics from the sewerage it has gone into.

THE SHAME IS ON YOUR SHOULDERS !!!

1. When it comes to being a human, a person, a father,a  mother, brother, a sister, friend or a Citizen, it does not really matter whether you are UMNO, PAS, DAP, GERAKAN, PKR, SUPP or any political party.

2. It matters if you let your political affiliations or preferences overcome your sense of humanity, decency and principles.

Then you become a shameless human being. Then you are no different from the vultures that feed on dying bodies.

3. It matters if you spin lies, condemn fellow human beings and insult them as if they do not matter and you, and you alone are entitled to breathe the air that God has given all. Is not telling lies to the people akin to telling lies against God? No true believer will spin the truth to mislead others.

(Quran 39:60)  On the Day of Judgment wilt thou see those who told lies against God;- their

faces will be turned black; Is there not in Hell an abode for the Haughty?

(Quran 39:61)  But God will deliver the righteous to their place of salvation: no evil shall

touch them, nor shall they grieve.

Whatever that you want to take for yourself to the exclusion of others will be taken away from you in the most painful way possible - be it wealth, power, influence or health. Whenever you think you are high and mighty and your worldly cohorts conspire with you to falsify and spread msichief knowlingly, you will not be spared by God. He may let you enoy your illusionary happiness for a while. This is what God promises.
 

014.003  Those who love the life of this world more than the Hereafter, who hinder

(men) from the Path of God and seek therein something crooked: they are astray by a

long distance.

016.106  Any one who, after accepting faith in God, utters Unbelief,- except under

compulsion, his heart remaining firm in Faith - but such as open their breast to

Unbelief, on them is Wrath from God, and theirs will be a dreadful Penalty.

016.107  This because they love the life of this world better than the Hereafter: and

God will not guide those who reject Faith.

016.108  Those are they whose hearts, ears, and eyes God has sealed up, and they take

no heed.

Is there a true believer of God who can insult, oppress, and condemn someone whom he does not know? is not such a person a true defamer, a pemfitnah, a munafik?

The day you visit oppression and a feeling of helpness on another fellow human being, that is the day you free many souls. Free souls can move mountains, so to speak.

A person who has betrayed his own soul can never understand the power of the soul that cannot be bridled.

And no one , but God alone who has dominion over a person's soul.

Watch and you shall see.

PIETY AND PLACES OF WORSHIP

The recent cow head incident has brought to the fore certain important prerequisites for the maintenance of peace and harmony in a multi-religious society like ours.

One, an appreciation of the sensitivities of each and every religious community is fundamental. These sensitivities may be at variance with one’s own beliefs but recognizing them for what they are, is a pre-condition for ensuring inter-ethnic peace in a multi-religious society.

Two, when these sensitivities are ignored, or worse, transgressed, it is individuals and groups from the offending community who should be more vocal in condemning the behaviour of their fellow religionists. This will have a more positive impact upon interreligious ties than the denunciations of people from the aggrieved community. It is commendable that in the cow head incident a number of Muslim groups took a firm stand against the despicable action of a misguided few from their own community who had clearly violated Islamic teachings.

I have no doubt at all that if police investigations reveal that those responsible for the pig head incidents in Malacca and Kuala Lumpur are from some non-Muslim community, there will be individuals and groups from the community who will condemn such debased conduct.

Three, while Malaysians are generally conscious of the red lines that should not be crossed on certain matters pertaining to religion, the level of understanding and empathy among the different communities is still appallingly low. On a variety of issues ranging from education to economics, misconception and distrust continue to impact negatively upon ethnic relations. This is why public policies that seek to redress ethnic grievances, buttressed by effective public education, are so critical at this point in time in enhancing inter-community understanding.

If there was empathy among the communities, the question of relocating a Hindu
temple in Shah Alam would have been less controversial. No one would have argued
that a minority religious community cannot have its own place of worship in a locality where the majority professes a different religion. Right through history, Muslim Rulers --- with a few exceptions—saw it as their duty to protect the temples, churches and synagogues of minority faiths, in accordance with Quranic principles.

By the same token, in a number of societies where Hindus or Buddhists or Christians are in the majority, Muslim minorities have been able build their mosques and practise their faith in peace. Malaysia itself is an outstanding example of a country where the majority dichotomy has had no effect upon the construction of places of worship. If we were influenced by such myopic thinking, there would be no gurdwaras in Malaysia since Sikhs are a tiny minority everywhere in the country!

Of course, in any multi-religious society there will have to be unambiguous rules governing the construction, maintenance and expansion of places of worship. These rules should be just and fair to all religious communities. Equally important, they should be enforced effectively. The lack of effective enforcement has in some instances contributed to inter-religious friction and tension.

From a broader perspective, while it is important to acknowledge the significance of a place of worship to the religious life of a people, it would be wrong to assume that a place of worship is proof of the piety of a people. We have to get rid of the idea that there is a direct equation between the two. True piety is reflected in faith in God and in good deeds. In the ultimate analysis, it is deeds that mirror values such as justice and compassion and kindness that really count.

It is not just kindness and compassion to our fellow human beings that is indicative of piety. Showing kindness and compassion to animals is also regarded as a noble virtue in all our religions. This virtue was one of the edicts of that illustrious Buddhist Ruler of antiquity, Asoka. . The Qur’an even recognizes the rights of animals as illustrated in the story of the Prophet Salih and the people of Thamud. It explains why early Muslim jurists not only formulated rules and regulations aimed at protecting the welfare of animals but also prohibited animal torture. This is why stomping and spitting upon the
slaughtered head of a cow with venom is an unconscionable act.

The time has come for more individuals and groups of conscience to speak out against those attitudes and actions within their own religious community that violate the humane values and principles embodied in their respective faiths.

THIS IS THE PERIOD TO KEEP OUR HUMANITY

We are witnessing all sorts of social and political behaviour, completely unprecedented in its scale, creativity and potent danger. It is not incorrect to say that we are, in a sense, living in dangerous times.

In another sense, if we, the Rakyat, exercise prudence, patience, perseverance and philanthropy (good works with kindness), this is a God sent period for us to realign Malaysia on to the direction it should be heading. There is a lot of work to be done. It will take long but let us keep taking the first steps

1) We are experiencing a political landscape that has never existed in our country before. We are no longer mesmerized by the notion of incumbency. It is no longer true that anyone under the BN ticket will win. However, we must be careful not to fall into the rebellious trap that whoever on the opposition ticket must win. Any political candidate must be able to stand on their own as we are beginning to realize the failings and trappings of the mentalities of the political party systems. Political parties primarily serve the party's interests and if it is expedient, then the party members' interests - people's interest comes in third, if it does!


2) The Rakyat is also now more discerning when they hear so-called racial issues being stoked in public by those with the evil hope that it will burn the fire of racism and subsequently promote their narrow self interests. However, we must forever be on guard for the evil ones do not rest. Since they know that there is no scientific logic, rationality nor even spiritualism in racial approaches, they will appeal to emotions and years of indoctrinated prejudice. This is where each of us must touch our hearts and use our mind to stave off the lure and entrapment of the evil ones. They will keep on trying, they will be creative and they will not cease to cause ultimate disaster.

We, the People, must let them know clearly through our deeds and actions that they will never succeed in taking away our humanity nor will we stop being Malaysians in the true sense of the word. We must remind them that as “they plotted and planned, and God too planned, and the best of planners is God” (Quran: 3:54)


3) The Rakyat is also now aware of this: The evil ones have no compunction and fear in even invoking God’s name to serve their narrow selfish interests. This is the age old abuse of religion, to instill fear, doubts, to appeal to a “sense of divine duty”, to appeal to the sense of tribalism, etc. Most of these are evil people and some ignorant. They care nothing about you or your religion or God. They just want to kill you body on the pretext of saving your soul – so that they can be heroes.

“There is the type of man whose speech about this world's life may dazzle you, and he calls God to witness about what is in his heart; yet is he the most contentious of enemies”. (Quran: 2:204)

We must be clear: God never condones hatred, injustice, intolerance, violence or oppression. WE too must make an effort to understand our own respective religion from our own scriptural sources – if we truly care. This way, we will not be manipulated by evil charlatans who purportedly speak in God’s name.

4) WE, the People, are also becoming aware that only two things appear to interest most politicians, whether BN or Pakatan – power and wealth. We must remember this so that we know how to push the button to make them move in the interest of the Nation. We must have our eyes open on what happens to the wealth of the Nation – which collectively belongs to the Rakyat and the future generation of Rakyats. WE MUST INSIST ON KNOWING WHAT GOES ON IN THE REDISTRIBUTION OF THE WEALTH PROCESS. We cannot just leave it to the so-called institutions that are supposedly caretakers of the rakyat. The People themselves must know.


5) We, the Rakyat are also becoming aware that most politicians are fast on their mouth and slow in their brains. This is not surprising as they are more busy politicking, giving speeches/sermons, attending various public functions, etc, etc. Where do you think they can find the time to read, to reflect, to think, to study the papers that the civil servants have prepared for them, to meet the genuine ordinary rakyat who wants to give a suggestion or to air his problem??? If you do not believe me, try to make an appointment with any Minister or exco member. Try and more importantly, evaluate why he is too busy to meet you (By the way, this was the same guy/gal who walked to our house doors during the elections!)

6) We are also becoming aware that there are racists, bigots, religiously overdosed persons in every basket of ethnic or religious grouping. Let us firmly refuse to equate “some” with “all”. Let us recognize the evil persons for what they are without giving them the cover of the very religion they are abusing. To do this, we must be willing to clean the dusts in our own hearts.

7) We are also realizing that the civil service is on auto mode and that is because the political masters have no time and do not know what is going on in there. The true “government”, the civil service which interacts with the People on a daily basis is left to its own whims and fancies. I fear that it is mutating into a monster that one day we will shocked to realize.

This I must share:

I am truly worried that there are evil and irresponsible persons among us who want to cause the greatest instability possible, to divide us, to cause enmity among us to make us stop being human beings. We cannot allow this. We must be wary and firm. We must forever be on guard.

Otherwise, we would have failed our parents, children, our country, ourselves and God.

“Therefore stand firm (in the straight Path) as you are commanded,- thou and those who with you turn (unto God); and transgress not (from the Path): for He sees well all that you do. (Quran:11:112)

“And incline not to those who do wrong, or the Fire will seize you; and you have no protectors other than God, nor shall you be helped”. (Quran: 11:113)
