Hindu Brother, Sisters, Please forgive these wayward folks.

Unbelievable! Completely inhuman and unIslamic. This is certainly an offence of inciting religious hatred. Malaysianinsider and malaysiankini reported that a group of residents (after their Friday prayers!) in section 22 Shah Alam had gone to the Selangor Secretariat building this afternoon and had placed the head of a blood – dripping cow there as a protest against a temple relocation plan.

The Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak apparently has directed Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan to investigate an incident in Shah Alam Friday where protestors used a cow's head to vent their anger against the Selangor state government.

The police must take prompt action against these irresponsible people. All Muslim NGOs and leaders must condemn this unIslamic act and illegal act.

It is an offence under the Malaysian Penal code as shown below:

298. Uttering words, etc. with deliberate intent to wound the religious feelings of any person.
Whoever, with deliberate- intention of wounding the religious feelings of any person, utter any word or makes any sound in the hearing of that person, or makes ant gesture in the sight of that person, or places any object in the sight of that person, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine, or with both.

298A. Causing etc, disharmony, disunity, or feelings or enmity, hatred or ill-will, or prejudicing, etc., the maintenance of harmony or unity, on grounds of religion.
(1) Whoever by words, either spoken or written or by signs, or by visible representations, or by any act, activity or conduct, or by organising, promoting or arranging, or assisting in organising, promoting or arranging, any activity, or otherwise in any other manner-
(a) causes, or attempts to cause, or is likely to cause disharmony, disunity, or feelings of enmity, hatred or ill-will; or
(b) prejudices or attempts to prejudice, or is likely to prejudice, the maintenance of harmony or unity,
on grounds of religion, between persons or groups of persons professing the same or different religions, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term of not less than two years and not more than five years.

This is what the Quran says:

“Revile not you those whom they call upon besides God, lest they out of spite revile God in their ignorance. Thus have We made alluring to each people its own doings. In the end will they return to their Lord, and We shall then tell them the truth of all that they did”. (Quran: 6:108)

“Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knows best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance”(Quran: 16:125)

“And there are those who put up a mosque by way of mischief and infidelity - to disunite the Believers - and in preparation for one who warred against God and His Apostle aforetime. They will indeed swear that their intention is nothing but good; But God does declare that they are certainly liars”.(Quran 9:107)

“There is the type of man whose speech about this world's life May dazzle you, and he calls God to witness about what is in his heart; yet is he the most contentious of enemies”. (Quran: 2:204)

“When he turns his back, His aim everywhere is to spread mischief through the earth and destroy crops and cattle. But God loves not mischief” (Quran:2:205)

I pray that ALL Malaysians condemn these perpetrators and say that we do not want a repeat of this anymore.

Peace !

NOte: I FEEL ASHAMED.

Holy Quran, Chapter 5 (Al-Ankabut), Verse 46;

"And dispute not with the People of the Book, except with means better than mere disputation, unless I be with those of them who inflict wrong and injury, but say to them: "We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you; Our God and your God is one; and it is to Him that we bow."

Dr. Zakir Naik wrote an article years ago that the Hindu Scriptures (Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas, and Itihaas) actually point to One God.
The Chandogya Upanishad states “He is One only without a second”.
Svetasvatara Upanishad writes “of Him there are neither parents nor lord” & “there is no likeness of Him” & “His form is not to be seen, no one sees Him with the eye”.
My point here is we are not sure whether Hindu’s are people of the book, BUT, we are not sure that they aren’t either.

Islam is a religion of tolerance. This is the promise the Prophet S.A.W. made to the people living near Mount Sinai;

“This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah (S.A.W.), as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them. Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by God! I hold out against anything that displeases them. No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries. No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims’ houses. Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God’s covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate. No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them. If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray. Their churches are declared to be protected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants. No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world).”

The theology of our religion, the fundamental of our religion is PEACE. I find it appalling that these Malays dare to act in such a way, most outrageous is that they claim do it in the name of Islam. How can they expect people to respect them? Never mind non-Muslims, many Muslims of other races find it hard to respect the Malays. I understand that these people are probably the minority group, but it takes one to tarnish an entire group’s reputation.

These Malays should really stop “hafaz”-ing (blindly reciting) the Holy Quran, and start reading the Holy Quran (to understand its’ meaning).

My two-cents worth.

BID,

Thank you for your "two-cents worth". It has been enlightening for us to share that speech by the Prophet. A good reminder.

peace !

This is a big shame to the Muslim/Malay community. We need to make it known on the air, internet and in print that the mainstream Malays are horrified and deplore such idiotic acts of hatred. This is a travesty to our multi-racial country. And who are we as Muslims to shout in protest when a cartoonist draws caricatures of our Prophet, yet can defile a holy object of another religion. Read your own holy book in a language you can understand, people of Section 23!

Salam Hormat Brother,

I am touched by your concern for your Hindu brothers. In fact, Islam demands Muslims to look after the minority in their midst,including their freedom to practice their choice of religion. In Islam , there is no compulsion on the choice of religion. But, I understand that the 'cow head' fiasco is not an act to insult the Hindu religion but mearly an act to express their anger and disapproval for the state authority's political decision. Let us all foget the incident with goodwill and foster friendship as brothers of 1 Malaysia. Please read about my opinion on this subject at free2talk2me.blogspot.com. Thank you.Salam.
